Welcome to 2nd Grade!  We have been learning about following expectations around the school.  This year we've graduated from "SWIMming" to "LEADing".  L is for Lead by Example, E is for Exibit Safety, A is for Act Respectfully, and D is for Deliver Greatness. Our class has improved everyday so far and is becoming a class of focused leaders. 

We have begun a new curriculum in Literacy called EL.  You will hear more about it in the future.  We all like the changes so far.  We're still teaching the same standards but in a different format.  The Math curriculum has also made some improvements with more of a focus on having a growth mindset and collaborating with our math community.  With all that underway, I can say we're off to a good start. 

The cafeteria would like you to know that lunch prices have increased to $2.55 for this school year.  We eat at 12:35, and you are welcome to come eat with your child when you have the opportunity. 

I did not send Monday folders home since there wasn't much to send yet.  They'll go out next week.  We're waiting on our subscription renewal to give out passwords for programs such as RAZ Kids, etc.  Thank you for the wonderful supplies that you've been sending in and for sharing your children with me.  They are a group of hard working, caring students, and I think we will have a very successful year!
